General Questions

What can I expect from the free phone consultation?

Our free phone consultation is a brief, no-pressure conversation (typically 15 minutes) with a member of our intake team. During this call, you'll have a chance to: share a little about what's bringing you to therapy, ask any questions you may have about our practice or services, discuss your preferences for a therapist (e.g., style, specialties, scheduling needs), learn about fees, insurance, and the next steps, and get matched with the therapist who best fits your needs. This call is designed to help you feel informed and confident before beginning therapy. There's no commitment, just a friendly conversation to help you take the next step.

What can I expect in my first session?

Your first session is a time to get to know your therapist, talk about what brings you to therapy, and explore your goals. Your therapist will ask questions to better understand your concerns and background, and you'll have space to ask questions too. This session is also about making sure it's a good fit for you.

How long are sessions?

Most sessions are approximately 55 minutes. Occasionally, longer sessions may be recommended based on the type of therapy you're receiving, but we'll always discuss that in advance.

How often will I need to come to therapy?

Most clients attend once per week, especially at the beginning. As you progress, you and your therapist may decide to meet biweekly or on an as-needed basis.

How long will I need to be in therapy?

It depends on your unique goals and circumstances. Some clients find a few months of therapy helpful, while others choose to stay longer to work through deeper or ongoing issues. You and your therapist will regularly check in on progress and next steps.

Getting Started

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can get started by scheduling a free phone consultation through our online scheduler. During the call, we'll learn more about what you're looking for and match you with the therapist who's the best fit for your needs.

What if I'm not sure which therapist is right for me?

No problem! Our intake team will help you find a therapist based on your concerns, goals, preferences, and availability. We'll guide you through the process and answer any questions along the way.

Do you offer in-person therapy?

Currently, we offer therapy exclusively through telehealth. All sessions are conducted virtually using secure, HIPAA-compliant video conferencing.

Telehealth Therapy

Is online therapy effective?

Yes! Research shows that telehealth therapy is just as effective as in-person sessions for most people. Many clients find it more comfortable and convenient, especially when done from their own private space.

What do I need for a telehealth session?

You'll need a reliable internet connection, a smartphone or computer with a camera and microphone, and a quiet, private space. We'll send you a secure link before your session. Just click to join.

What if the connection drops during a session?

If technical issues interrupt your session and reconnection isn't possible, your therapist will call you at the phone number we have on file to continue the session by phone. If you'd like us to use a different number, please let your therapist know before the session starts.

Fees & Insurance

How much do therapy sessions cost?

Session fees range from $125 to $160, depending on the therapist and type of service.

What is your policy on late cancellations or missed appointments?

We require at least 24 hours' notice for appointment cancellations. If you cancel less than 24 hours in advance or miss your session without notice, you will be charged the full session fee. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover late cancellation or no-show fees, so this charge will be your responsibility. We do understand that unexpected situations can come up. If a late cancellation is unavoidable due to illness, emergency, or other extenuating circumstances, please let us know. We'll do our best to be flexible and work with you.

Do you take insurance?

Yes, we are in-network with many insurance providers, including Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross / Blue Shield, Carelon Behavioral Health, First Health, Kaiser, Medicaid (Colorado), Optum, United Medical Resources (UMR), UnitedHealthcare UHC | UBH, and Out-of-Network (we provide superbills for reimbursement).

What is a copay, coinsurance, and deductible?

Copay: A set fee you pay per session (e.g., $25). Coinsurance: A percentage of the session cost you're responsible for (e.g., 20%). Deductible: The amount you pay out of pocket before your insurance begins to cover services.

What is a superbill?

A superbill is a detailed invoice we provide if you're paying out of pocket and using out-of-network benefits. You submit it to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

How do you handle payments with insurance?

Copays/coinsurance are collected at the time of your session. If you have a deductible, we will bill your insurance and then charge your card on file for the balance within 48 hours once the claim is processed.

Privacy & Confidentiality

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. What you share in therapy is protected by confidentiality laws and will not be shared without your consent, except in specific situations (e.g., if there's a risk of harm to yourself or others, or in cases of abuse).

Do you keep records or share information with insurance?
